    How to
    reserve your seating

    F.A.Q.

    What is general seating?

General seating means general admission / open seating. You choose where you want to sit when you arrive at the venue for the performance. Subscribers get access to the first 6 rows in the center of the venue. It’s first come, first served.

I’m a Subscriber, I want to attend a performance with a friend. How do I purchase a ticket for my friend?

For productions that are general admission (Othello, The Trial, and Private Lives), advanced single tickets can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets. If you missed advanced ticket sales, you can also come to the venue box office starting 60 minutes before curtain to purchase single tickets for the upcoming performance that day.

For Cinderella, contact City Box Office at 415.392.4400 and let them know you are a subscriber with us and would like to purchase tickets for your friends. They will be able to assist in selecting seats so you can be seated next/close to each other.

I’m a Subscriber and will not be able attend the performance. How can I give my ticket(s) to a friend?

If you’ve already reserved your tickets with us, have your friend give your name to the venue box office personnel to retrieve your Will Call tickets. Forward your friend the ticket confirmation email you received from us just in case it is requested from the box office staff.

If you haven’t reserved your ticket(s) yet, contact our office to let us know which performance date to reserve your tickets under and we will send you a confirmation email of your reserved ticket details. Then at the performance day, have your friend retrieve your reserved Will Call ticket(s) by providing the box office your name.
