Directed by Rhodessa Jones
March - April 2007

One of the sexiest political farces ever written, Lysistrata was first performed in 411 B.C. when Athens and Sparta were engaged in a bloody war with no end in sight. Under the determined leadership of Lysistrata, the women of the warring city-states of Greece unite in refusing their men any sexual favors until the fighting has stopped!

Director, Rhodessa Jones and her female ensemble cast of artists utilizes music, movement and shadow play to retell Aristophane's story.  The women are represented on a global and local scale as Rhodessa Jones creates a devastating attack on the military "there" and the street madness "here".  Lysistrata is a cry for peace by women driven to change the world using the ultimate weapon.
