2017-18 General Auditions were on Saturday, June 24, 2017. Youth Auditions for Cinderella will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017.
Cinderella Youth Auditions
African-American Shakespeare Company is holding youth auditions for this season’s Cinderella!
When & Where
Date/Time: Saturday, September 30 | 10am – 2pm
Auditions are in groups, 1 hour duration (10am–11am; 11am–12pm; 12:30pm–1:30pm)
Venue: African American Art & Culture Complex – 762 Fulton St, San Francisco, CA 94102
Callbacks: Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 10am–2pm
Young Cinderella: Female, age 4–8. Younger version of Cinderella after mother has just died. Young Cinderella seeks comfort from her father and they share a special dance together. (possibly dance)
Granddaughters: Female, age 8–13. Two young sisters who are consistently fighting with each other.
Page: Male, age 8–15. Precocious, smart male child who is witty and thinks on his feet. He works at the Palace and looks up to the Prince, but has a habit of telling the truth at the wrong time.
How to Dress
Auditions will include a physical group warm-up and exercise. Please dress your child in comfortable clothing appropriate to move.
What to Prepare
If your child has a monologue we would love to see it. Another option is for your child to tell a story from a fairytale.
If your child sings, please have them prepare a short section of a song (a cappella).
How We Evaluate
We are seeking for the youths to be creative, open, take direction, and the ability to project vocally.
Rehearsals: begins Tuesday, October 17, 2017 (6pm – 10pm M-F | 10am – 5pm Sat)
Performances: December 22, 23 & 24, 2017
